Cancer

Cancer

Cancer begins when cells in a part of the body start to grow out of control. The body is made up of hundreds of millions of living cells that grow, divide, and die to replace worn-out or dying cells or to repair injuries. Cells become cancer cells usually because of damage to DNA.

Sometimes a person can inherit damaged DNA, the damage to the DNA is caused by and outside precursor, e.g., asbestos fibers or the cause of the DNA damage is not known. There are many kinds of cancer (mesothelioma, lung, stomach, leukemia etc.), but they all usually start because of out-of-control growth of abnormal cells. asbestos exposure.

Cancer usually starts because of out-of-control growth of abnormal cells. This out of control cell growth makes a cancer cell. The cancer cells can form a tumor (e.g., mesothelioma) or can involve the blood and blood-forming organs (e.g., leukemia). When the cancer cells get into the bloodstream or lymph vessels of our body, it can travel to other parts of the body. This is called metastasis.

And, even though all tumors are not cancerous - benign tumors - can cause problems if they can grow very large and press on healthy organs and tissues. Usually, these tumors are almost never life threatening.
